Billy Moore Days will take place in Historic Avondale October 26 – 29, with the return of the event’s favorite elements including the Billy Moore Days Parade and Carnival, and marks the 71st anniversary of Avondale’s incorporation.

Festival activities are held along Western Avenue between 3rd Street & 6th Street.

Deconcini Park will come alive with carnival rides, games and snacks! A variety of rides will be available for all ages

Free kids activities give a flavor for the old west with panning for gold, Bow & Arrow Bulls Eye Quest, Rubber Band Gun Shootout and Rodeo Calf Roping. We’ll even have a branding station where your kids can receive free western themed face painting!
Dr. Buck’s Wild West Show:
Take a trip back in time to gun fights, roping, horsemenship and good old fashioned fun! Dr. Buck’s Wild West Show will include The Wild West Comedy Gun Fight and Stunt show, The Wizard of the West Mysterioso Magic show, True West Tales with old west Historian Cowboy Lee Anderson. MORE DETAILS
The City of Avondale’s History on Display
During the weekend event, visit the lobby of the Sam Garcia Western Avenue Library to learn about the history of our city. A display will be up that will showcase a historic timeline, pinpointing key features in Avondale’s history, as well as feature the legend of Billy Moore, Avondale’s founder. On Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28th from 6-8pm Three Rivers Historical Society will provide volunteers to staff the display and share tidbits about Avondale’s past.
Games and Contests
In honor of Avondale being named an All American City we have a variety of all American games and contests to participate in including sack races, yee-haw hollerin’ contests and more. Check back for more details and to sign up.

Adult All-Nighter Halloween Kickball Tournament:
Friday 8pm – Festival Fields
Join the City of Avondale as we turn the ball fields into a haunted ghost town for our first Adult Halloween Kickball Tournament. It’ll be a spooktacular good time with a double elimination tournament and costume contests for best individual and group costume. Fee includes a two game minimum and t-shirt. Don’t let this good time, scare you away!

Halloween Costume Contest & Trick or Treating
Saturday, October 28th – 2:30 pm – Family Stage
We invite kids 12 and under to show of their Halloween Costumes in our annual Costume Contest at 2:30 pm on the Family Stage(4th Street & Western) Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. Following the Contest kids are invited to trick-or-treat at our exhibitor booths for candy and giveaways.
Saturday, October 28th 3:00 pm – Western Avenue just east of 3rd Street
Come and witness this fantastic battle of the hoses! Watch Avondale Fire Department conduct this battle with their fire hoses pushing a barrel bank and forth along a cable. Cheer on your favorite team and cool off as water flies!
Pie Eating Contest
Saturday, October 28th 4:00 pm
Join us for good old fashion fun at our pie eating contest at 4:00 pm on the Family Stage(4th Street & Western).
Adult (12 years or older)
Young Adults (6-11 years)
Kids (0-5 years) divisions (with smaller pies)
There is an opportunity for everyone to participate! Pies provided by Village Inn and prize will be given. To sign up stop by the Village Inn booth by Saturday 3:30 pm
